As an Approved Employer under the Australian Government's Pacific Labour Mobility Scheme (PALM), LSA is proud of its record of Post Placement Support, Worker Welfare and Pastoral Care of our Pacific Island workers across our Host Client sites in Australia.

As such we are looking for another unique individual to join our PALM Team - SA as a PALM Account Manager based in Adelaide. The role requires someone who has a genuine passion for Worker welfare, understands the challenges of living and working in Australia as well as the opportunities it presents. This is not your typical 9 to 5 job. It requires flexibility to undertake some duties outside of normal business hours.

The PALM Account Manager role requires to work closely with both the PALM Worker and Host Employer to identify any barriers that may impact ongoing employment and address them promptly. This person will seek to address barriers by working closely with the PALM Workers, Host Employers, internal Stakeholders, Community Connections and other external stakeholders to tailor effective supports and interventions to ensure the PALM Workers meet the contractual requirements of the PALM Scheme Deed and Guidelines.

The PALM Account Manager will also be responsible for the implementation of Service Delivery, Retention and Training strategies as well as adhering to Labour Solutions Australia's Governance and Operational Management plans.

Key responsibilities include:

Post Placement Support and Welfare Monitoring:

  • The PALM Account Manager plays a crucial role in supporting PALM Workers after their placement. This involves monitoring their welfare and ensuring they have the necessary resources and assistance to succeed in their employment.
  • They collaborate closely with both the PALM Worker (the employee) and the Host Employer (the company where the worker is placed).

Identifying and Addressing Barriers:

  • The Account Manager proactively identifies any barriers that may hinder ongoing employment for PALM Workers. These barriers could be related to language, cultural differences, work environment, or personal challenges.
  • Once identified, the Account Manager promptly addresses these barriers to ensure smooth employment continuation.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

  • The role involves working closely with various stakeholders, including internal teams, Host Employers, and external partners (such as Community Connections).
  • Effective communication and collaboration are essential to tailor appropriate support and interventions.

Contractual Compliance:

  • The PALM Account Manager ensures that PALM Workers meet the contractual requirements outlined in the PALM Scheme Deed and Guidelines.
  • This includes adherence to employment terms, performance expectations, and any other contractual obligations.

Service Delivery, Retention, and Training:

  • The Account Manager implements strategies to enhance service delivery, retain PALM Workers, and provide necessary training.
  • They focus on creating a positive experience for both workers and employers.

What you can offer us:

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated experience in account management, preferably in a similar role.
  • Understanding of the PALM Scheme Deed and Guidelines, including contractual requirements.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) practices.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.

Problem-Solving Abilities:

  • Proactive problem-solving skills to address barriers impacting ongoing employment.
  • Ability to tailor effective support and interventions for PALM Workers.

Compliance and Governance:

  • Familiarity with operational management plans and governance processes.
  • Commitment to adhering to organizational policies.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in a related field (e.g., business, human resources, social work).
  • Certification or training in workplace health and safety (e.g., WHS induction, First Aid).
  • Previous experience in recruitment, employment services, workforce development, or related fields.
